Tree Of Life for LentMarch 17, 2014 by David Corbat
Tree of Life March 15 – April 6, 2014
During this Lenten season, it is time to think about how we can better serve those in need. As Father Joe mentioned in Session 5, of our You Belong series, who is your sister and brother. We are all children of God and therefore brothers and sisters in Christ. The acts of generosity and good will that flourish in December often fade quickly, causing many to say, “I wish we could keep the Christmas Spirit alive all year long.” We can! “The Tree of Life” gives you the opportunity to do just that. From March 15, 2014 through April 6, 2014 the Tree of Life will be placed beneath the Holy Family. It will be adorned with crosses representing the needs of the following organizations.
* St. Aloysius – Detroit: For the needs of the homeless in the Detroit area.
* Most Holy Trinity – Detroit: Assist with needy families, Homeless, etc.
* St. Malachy: For those who come to us asking for help.
* Sacred Heart: Where our Macomb needy are served.
Please be as generous as you have always been in the past. We ask that you take one, two or three tags from the tree. Requested items are small.
All items need to be returned by April 6, 2014.
Gift card and money donations for St. Malachy can be returned as late as April 19,2014.
If you are the one in need, please call Joan Jeffers at (586) 786-0347. She will assist you and/or direct you where you need to go to get the help you need. All information is confidential.
If you have any questions, please call Eva Gottschling at (586)446-0995.
God’s blessing for a continued spiritual Lenten Journey.
