Altar Servers

Our St. Malachy Altar Servers hold an important role during our weekend liturgies by aiding the celebrant with different needs.

The servers must be in 4th grade or above to begin training. This role is scheduled based on availability, and members might serve every few weeks.

Arts and
environment

The Arts and Environment Committee is responsible for decorating the church year round to create a beautiful space for prayer and worship.

The group gets a bit busier around the holidays and during the Lenten and Easter seasons.

New members are always appreciated, and greatly cherished as they provide new ideas, decorating techniques, and help move and lift decorations to elegantly transform the place of worship.

Security
Ministry

Today’s Church must be prepared for a variety of threats and security emergencies. Developing appropriate policies and response procedures for the sole purpose of creating a safe and secure worship environment is essential. St. Malachy’s Security Team is trained and committed to protecting the parishioners and property of the Church. With a team of volunteers, they are present at every Mass, Holy Hour, and public event! The initial step in developing security awareness is to ensure we have an informed and knowledgeable Church body. Congregants should maintain general awareness and report suspicious individuals or situations.
Those interested in joining the Security Ministry, please email: security@stmalachychurch.org

Extraordinary
Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC)

Being an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at St. Malachy allows people to serve in bringing Christ to the people of the parish of God. As Communion is the reason Mass exists, our Ministers are an important part of Mass.

All confirmed members of the Church can be trained to serve in this ministry.

If you are interested in becoming an EMHC, please email: eme@stmalachychurch.org

Lector Ministry

Lectors are called to help others hear the Word of God. If this interests you, consider becoming a Minister of the Sacred Word. This beautiful ministry proclaims the Word of God so that others will be able to hear the message of His love to us through Scripture and the Prayers of the Faithful.

Music Ministry

The Music Ministry at St. Malachy proclaims the Word of God through vibrant and welcoming ensembles of all ages, styles, and skill levels so that others are able to hear the message of God’s love.

Six music groups are offered, totaling over 100 gifted individuals. However, they are a close, tight-knit family with the goal to praise God through quality preparation of music within the welcoming, nurturing community where music enlivens the soul, invigorates the faith, and brings people closer to God and deeper in prayer.

The Choirs:

The Worship Choir is an SATB Choir with instrumentalists singing all genres of music. Though they primarily sing for the 9:30 am Mass, this group does occasionally sing other Masses.

The Worship Choir rehearses 7:15-9 pm on Wednesdays in the church from September through mid-June.

The Cantor Ministry is a beautiful ministry for confident vocalists looking to share God’s Word through song. This ministry is an extremely rich ministry that leads the congregation in song and also leads prayer services, etc. depending on availability.

cantors

Our contemporary choir is open to those college-age and above. This choir primarily sings for the 11:30 am Mass on Sundays, but occasionally sings other Masses as well. Currently in a praise band set up, we have vocalists, piano and synthesizer, guitars, drums and auxiliary percussion. We are especially looking for bass-baritone voices at this time.

We rehearse 7:00-9:00pm on Thursdays in the church.  If you are interested in joining this ensemble, please contact us at music@stmalachychurch.org

Whether you haven’t rang in years, or maybe you are looking to get started, the St. Malachy Handbells Ensemble is the perfect setting to foster techniques needed for handbell playing in a sacred space.

This choir has no age restriction and is open to all those interested.  We rehearse on Wednesdays, from 6:15-7:15pm in the church. Anyone interested in joining the Handbells Ensemble, please contact us at music@stmalachychurch.org

All children 2nd through 6th grade are welcome to come and learn about God while singing music and learning good technique and skill set in music.

We rehearse most Sundays during the school year from 10:45am to 11:25am in the Youth Center. We sing approximately once per month in addition to concerts and feast days.  Please call the Parish Office, x 1103 to inquire about joining.

Our Resurrection Choir is one of our most rewarding ministries, aiding families in their darkest times. In addition to funeral liturgies, we also sing for concerts and the All Souls Masses.

Media Ministry

Technology has become much more integrated today, and it seems natural to involve technology into worship and parish life.

At St. Malachy, the Media Ministry uses techniques and systems such as projection screens, audio and video recording and editing, photography, and livestreams to enhance the worship experience during weekend liturgies, weddings, funerals, festivals, picnics, video series, and more.

These individuals have a creative eye and passion for media presentation, sound and video recording, photography, and more.

This ministry entails helping with creating media presentations, lyric and prayer pages for projection screens and the Gathering Space TV, recording masses for archival purposes and posting on the webpage, video recording, photography of parish events, and everything else that requires technology within the Mass and parish life.

If you are someone who has a creative eye for media presentation and enjoys working with technology, please email us at tech@stmalachychurch.org for more information.

Become an Usher

The St. Malachy ushers greet parishioners and help all those in need of assistance during the weekend liturgies. According to availability, ushers are assigned to a team and a mass.

If you are interested in ushering please email: ushers@stmalachychurch.org
