Music Ministry

Directors: Cat Menzies, Jay Schumacher, Tom Kluka

LogoSt. Malachy is home to a vibrant and welcoming music ministry offering ensembles of all ages, styles, and skill levels providing music for masses and our yearly concert series. Our goal is to give praise to God through the preparation and presentation of music to the best quality possible, to enliven the soul and invigorate our faith, while bringing us deeper into prayer. We are always looking for new people! For more information contact Cat at x1103 or via email at music@stmalachychurch.org

God has bestowed upon his people the gift of song. God dwells within each human person, in the place where music takes its source. Indeed, God, the giver of song, is present whenever his people sing his praises.Sing to the Lord, Music in Divine Worship, USCCB

The Worship Choir is an SATB Choir with instrumentalists singing all genres of music. Though we primarily sing for the 9:30 am Mass, this group does occasionally sing other masses. The Worship Choir rehearses 7:30-9pm on Wednesdays in the church from September through mid-June.

Cantor Ministry

cantorsThe Cantor Ministry is a beautiful ministry for confident vocalists looking to share God’s Word through song. This ministry is an extremely rich ministry that leads the congregation in song and also leads prayer services, etc. depending on availability.  Contact Cat to inquire about becoming a cantor!

Choir of Everlasting Life

Our resurrection choir is one of our most rewarding ministries aiding families in their darkest times. In addition to funeral liturgies we also sing for masses such as All Souls Mass as well as concerts.  While Cat helps direct the choir throughout the year, Tom Kluka is the primary conductor of this ensemble for our winter and spring concerts.
